Les « IMPROMPTUES « , séries Mirages & Kakemonos – 2018 / 2020
Pour cette nouvelle et dernière série de travaux, le peintre débute par une ébauche graphique, spontanée où plusieurs ustensiles sont utilisés, comme les spatules. Un enduit de base créera un relief puis un lâché de quelques teintes donnera la base qui confère à l'oeuvre en devenir un espace, un terrain de « jeu » où toutes les libertés lui seront permises.
Illustrant le principe de la « sérendipité *» l'artiste se délecte à superposer dans un second temps de multiples tonalités. Il les choisit de manière plus ou moins hasardeuses et fait confiance à son œil . Un « sfumato » neutre, comme le gris, viendra noyé et flouté le graphisme obtenu de certaines peintures, faisant ainsi vibrer les couleurs entre elles en apportant un jeu de perspectives plus ou moins emblématiques.
« J'interprète les couleurs et me laisse inspirer émotionnellement par elles, car mon travail porte sur un ensemble de relations, de vibrations et attractions ».
Cette démarche semble dénoter un certain lâcher prise de la part de l'artiste, comme il le dit lui même, moins de construction en apparence mais plus de fantaisie et légèreté dans les tons et graphismes. Lui qui revendique ce regard d'architecte qui peint, d'esthète sensible, ce même artiste qui porte un regard très critique et accusateur sur l'évolution de l'homme et de sa relation avec le monde qui l'entoure, cherche par cette voie à redonner un peu de poésie et de rêve.
« La rencontre de l'oeuvre avec son public doit être un moment privilégié et intime, l' occasion pour le spectateur d'une confrontation avec ses émotions pures. »
*Sérendipité : La sérendipité est, au sens strict original, la conjonction du hasard heureux qui permet au créateur ou chercheur de faire une découverte inattendue d'importance ou d'intérêt supérieurs à l'objet de sa recherche initiale, et de l'aptitude de ce même chercheur à saisir et à exploiter cette « chance ».
The "IMPROMPTUES", Mirages & Kakemonos series - 2018 / 2020
For this new and final series of works, the painter begins with a graphic sketch, spontaneous in which several utensils are used, such as spatulas. A base plaster will create a relief then a drop of a few shades will give the base which gives the work in the making a space, a "playground" where all the freedoms will be allowed.
Illustrating the principle of "serendipity* ", the artist delights in superimposing multiple tones in a second step. He chooses them more or less haphazardly and trusts his eye. A neutral “sfumato”, like gray, will drown and blur the graphics obtained from certain paintings, thus making the colors vibrate between them by bringing a play of more or less emblematic perspectives.
“I interpret colors and let myself be emotionally inspired by them, because my work is about a set of relationships, vibrations and attractions”.
This approach seems to denote a certain letting go on the part of the artist, as he himself says, less construction in appearance but more fantasy and lightness in tones and graphics. He who claims this look of an architect who paints, of a sensitive esthete, this same artist who takes a very critical and accusatory look at the evolution of man and his relationship with the world around him, seeks by this way to give back a little poetry and dreams. “The encounter of the work with its audience must be a privileged and intimate moment, the occasion for the spectator to be confronted with his pure emotions. "
* Serendipity: Serendipity is, in the original strict sense, the conjunction of happy chance which allows the creator or researcher to make an unexpected discovery of importance or interest greater than the object of his initial research, and of the aptitude of this same researcher to seize and exploit this "chance".
